About us

Kubusi Safaris was established in 1998 and is owned and operated by the Williamson family. James and Megan, and their two children Roxanne and Rory.

 

James was born in Transkei and grew up fishing along the wild coast. James studied nature conservation and worked for the Ciskei Parks Board. In 1998 he left Parks Board and started Kubusi Safaris and is a PH and Outfitter

 

Megan was born in Zimbabwe and qualified as a nursing sister after school. Megan runs all logistics, staff and client well being.

 

Roxanne and Rory were brought up outdoors, hunting and fishing. Roxanne is a qualified PH and FAGASA guide and runs the hunting at Kubusi Safaris. Rory is a personal trainer and sets up fitness preparation for hunters across the globe. 

​Kubusi Safari’s offers a premier hunting experience rooted in ethical practices, tradition, and conservation. Set in the breath taking landscapes of the Eastern Cape, our hunting safaris provide guests with the opportunity to engage in fair-chase hunts for a variety of plains game and select dangerous game species.

Each hunt is expertly guided by licensed professional hunters (PHs) with intimate knowledge of the land, wildlife behaviour, and tracking techniques. Whether you are a first-time hunter or a seasoned marksman, every safari is tailored to your experience level and desired game. You’ll track on foot, engage in spot-and-stalk methods, and test your skills in the true spirit of African hunting.​

 

Our expansive hunting area is home to species such as kudu, impala, warthog, blesbok, and wildebeest, with opportunities for more challenging pursuits like bushbuck or nyala. The terrain ranges from thick valley bushveld to open savanna — offering not only a hunt but an unforgettable journey through one of South Africa’s most ecologically rich regions.

Kubusi places strong emphasis on ethical hunting, sustainable wildlife management, and responsible trophy harvesting. All hunts are conducted under the regulations of the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency and contribute to local conservation efforts and community upliftment.
